IO1: An Apprenticeship Comparison Study - Research, analysis and data gathering, comparative analyses of existing Apprenticeship (training) provision in International Programmes within partner companies, VET & HE. All partners contributed on a local level to map the experience of their organisation/countries environment, the results of which acted as a benchmark in setting out the actions/framework for the C1 and C2 Pilots for the European Talent Programme. This output was led by STVG.

IO3: STEM Apprenticeship European Talent Programme and the C1 and C2 Pilots: 2019 saw apprentices from the project partnership test the higher apprenticeship programme through the delivery of the C1 Pilot, held over three weeks at City College Plymouth in February with 8 international higher-level apprentices; 2 from each partner attending. This first C1 Pilot was organised and delivered as a 3-week timetabled programme in the College vocational delivery departments for Engineering and Technology.

Activity was then evaluated to deliver an improved C2 Pilot at KVK in KlaipÄ—da, Lithuania in May 2019 when a further 8 international higher-level apprentices from the partners attended, including 2 from City College. The recruitment of participants for both pilots was completed by partners - AVL, MVV, KVK and CCP and to comprise of a mixed group of 8 apprenticeships with a focus on * STEM/STEAM/MINT.

*        STEM – UK term

*        STEAM – Lithuania term

*        MINT – Germany and Austria term

Further to Pilot evaluations we have devised a full programme that can be replicated by any VET organisation to deliver a successful 3-week European apprenticeship programme that is accredited and recognised across Europe through Europass. It is anticipated that the EATAP programme, along with the ROI guide (IO4) will become self-sustainable and a full cost recovery programme that will be funded via private sector employers. The private sector participation in EATAP is a crucial part of its structure and its added value; as national strategies now recognise the need for apprenticeships to be either employer led or with strong and systematic cooperation between VET schools and companies, sharing both the costs and the benefits. This is the ultimate sustainability of the programme post project.

IO4: ROI Guide and Framework for Internationalising a Sustainable Apprenticeship Programme: The development of a pedagogical framework (framework/guide) to establishing and managing a European Talent Programme to Internationalise an Apprenticeship. This details the how, what and why and sets out the return on investment (ROI) as a guide for private and public sector businesses/employers of apprenticeships to demonstrate the value of the EATAP programme. This output was led by MVV.

IO5: European Talent Programme: A Project Based learning 'Train the Trainer' course for delivery staff to guarantee maximum impact of the ETAP programme. This ensures understanding of the programme and provides tools and methods for professional development of VET tutors and company trainers. It is designed for all participants who tutor or work directly with apprentices and has particular focus towards Project based learning (PBL) techniques.
